Half days around flights, or a rainy-day backup for Jiufen. MRT-direct, no charter needed. Museums and library mostly close Mondays—pick another day.
Route (~4–5 hrs)
- Xinbeitou Historic Station (30 min, free): wooden platform photos.
- Hot Spring Museum (60 min, free): 1913 bathhouse; big bath + tatami hall.
- Hell Valley (30 min): 80–100°C steaming source; viewing only.
- Bathe (60–90 min): Longnice nude bath from NT$150 (green sulfur, closed Wed) / private rooms from NT$400; or Grand View day-use + lunch/tea (book ahead).
Two downhill finishers
- Shilin Night Market (on the MRT line): chicken, pepper buns, shaved ice.
- Palace Museum (15 min taxi): or Tianmu cafes if already visited.
Tips
- Longnice closes summers (~Jun–Sep). Strong-acid 5-min rule. Swimsuit/nude rules vary; remove silver.
- Sulfur + geothermal heat; use museum accessible routes with strollers.
