Why transfer on purpose

Kaohsiung MRT Red-Orange interchange. The "Dome of Light" of 4,500 glass panels was voted the world’s 2nd most beautiful metro station. Resident guides always rank it top 3: free, on the way, photogenic.

Highlights

1. Dome of Light: water, earth, light, fire themes; look up at the center—dreamier when lit.
2. Transfer hub: Red Line to Zuoying HSR / airport, Orange Line to Pier2 and Sizihwan. Base any Kaohsiung day here.
3. Liuhe at the exit: ~5 min from Exit 11 to Liuhe Night Market—start with papaya milk and kumquat lemonade.

• MRT Red/Orange Formosa Boulevard Station. Stay 20–40 min inside.
• Pair with Liuhe, Love River, Pier2 (Orange toward Yanchengpu/Sizihwan).

• Dome hall hours per station notices; closed after last trains.
• No eating or drinking in stations; watch belongings in transfer crowds.
